My name is Amanda Bovis. I have been teaching English since January of 2010. I graduated from Judson College with a BA in Secondary English Education after completing my student teaching at Francis Marion High School in the fall of 2009.
I have held numerous positions throughout my career including: Secondary Language Arts, K-10 applied art and Art History, AISA District I art competition sponsor and coordinator (4 years), as well as, National Honor Society sponsor for 7th-12th grades for five years.I was nominated by my students for AISA teacher of the year in 2016. In 2017 I was nominated by my peer teachers as the VFW Teacher of the Year, and won at both the local and state levels. I currently teach 9th-10th English Language Arts and ACT- Prep/Enhanced Learning.
I am a native of Demopolis, a 2003 graduate of Demopolis High School, and still have strong ties to the community through family and friends. I am ecstatic to be working in my hometown, and am greatly honored to be a Demopolis Tiger once again!
My husband and I have been married for nine years, and have been blessed with two adorable children, Machaela (6) and Walker (3).
