About Me

My name is Melissa Latham.  I have been a special education teacher for 26 years, 5 years in the Anniston School system, 5 years in the Hale County school system, 5 years in the Lauderdale County school system, and 11 years in the  Demopolis City Schools system.  I grew up in Boaz, Alabama and continued my education at Snead State and Jacksonville State University. I have a Bachelor of Science in Mild Learning Disabilities, a Masters in Mental Retardation and I received my National Board Certification in Exceptional Needs/Early Childhood Birth-8 Years Old in 2002.  I am currently a high school collaborative teacher for grades 9-12. I have been married to Jeff Latham for 21 years and we have three children, Devin, Seth, and Abbey.
