A Little About Myself
This is my 12th year at Demopolis High School, but it will be my 20th year of teaching. I have a bachelor’s degree from the University of South Alabama and a master’s degree from the University of Minnesota, both in Math Education. I grew up in Mobile, Alabama and went to Murphy High School. I have had the opportunity to live in many different states, and also in Germany, Okinawa and Denmark. I have three children, John Mark, 28, Kate, 24, and Jacob Boland, who is a senior this year at Demopolis HS. My husband, Johnny Johnston, is a Financial Planner here in Demopolis with Ameriprise. We met while working with the Canebrake Players and were married three years ago.
I love teaching Math, and especially Geometry. It is a "hands-on" subject, very visual, and can help us understand and appreciate nature and art in a more informed way. This course can really stretch your reasoning ability and help you to think logically.
