I am excited to be working with our local youth in the science classroom. I have been teaching at the high school level since August of 2010, and I have taught a variety of disciplines including Biology, Anatomy, Chemistry, Physical Science, Zoology, and ACT Prep. In addition to these assignments, I have had the opportunity to teach college Biology and Anatomy at Shelton and Jeff State. My educational background includes a Bachelor’s degree (Double major: Biology and Secondary General Science Education) earned from the University of Alabama (Spring 2010) as well as a Master’s Degree (MAT Biology) earned from the University of West Alabama (Summer 2011). I have a broad science background, but my specialization would be natural sciences like Zoology, Botany, and Ecology. At the University of Alabama, I worked in a research lab with reptiles and amphibians, and I also performed a Rainforest Ecology study in Ecuador. At DHS, I am currently teaching Biology and Anatomy as well as serving as the sponsor for Science National Honor Society (SNHS).
