My name is Tonya Thornton.  I have been a high school teacher for 23 years:  10 years in Alabama, 11 years in Mississippi, and 2 years in Georgia.   I grew up in Pleasant Grove, Alabama and continued my education at the University of Alabama where I received a bachelor's degree in Secondary Mathematics Education.  I earned my Master's of  Secondary Education degree from William Carey University in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.   I have held numerous positions throughout my career including Math Department Chair.  I am currently a high school math teacher, teaching Algebra I-A, Algebra I-B, Algebra II with trigonometry, and Pre-AP Algebra II with trigonometry.  I am a wife and a mother of 3 (Andrew, Carson, and Lizzie).
