My name is Demetrius Scott, and I am serving in my first year as Director of Bands. I am from Anniston, Alabama and attended Walter H. Wellborn High School where I served as drum major and alto saxophone section leader in the band and graduated as the Valedictorian in 2006. Upon graduation, I received the following degrees in my educational career: Bachelor of Arts in Music Education (Summa Cum Laude and Special Honors in Music) from Jacksonville State University (2011), Master of Education in Music Education from Auburn University (2015), and Master of Education in Instructional Leadership from the University of West Alabama (2017). This is my fifth year in education. My first job was at Red Level High School as Director of Bands where I taught Marching Band, Concert Band, Music Appreciation, Elementary Music, Beginner Band, and Enrichment. I currently teach Music Appreciation, Marching Band, and Concert Band. I am looking forward to the future of the River City Blue ensembles. My wife, Brittany, is a current nursing student at the University of West Alabama and our son, Rodney (Doodie), is a student at Westside Elementary School.
